In technology Innovation discourse, often, we use the term Breakthrough. It may refer to a significant jump in performance improvement of existing technology, or the invention of new technology. For example, the success of making having perfect blue LED was a breakthrough in improving existing technology. It led to overcoming a major barrier in powering the creative wave of LED lighting to cause destruction to incandescent and fluorescent lamps. On the other hand, the invention of the Transistor or electronic image sensor was a breakthrough, as it offered a new technology core to pursue a creative wave of destruction.
