Codified knowledge, and also skill, is documented as a set of variables and the relationships among them, data, rules, procedures, algorithms, and standards. Through formal education and training, we transfer such capabilities. Although it takes a long time to transfer these capabilities, like how to solve differential equations or determine the trajectory of projected objects, however, the codified capability is highly amenable to automation, mostly in the form of software. As a result, the market value of these capabilities is suffering from erosion.
